Anxious Democrats are scrutinizing a field with as many as three congressmen, two Kennedys, a state senator, and a federal prosecutor as they scramble to find a candidate capable of contending with Scott Brown in the state’s third marquee Senate battle in less than four years.
With Senator John F. Kerry’s nomination Friday to become secretary of state, both parties began in earnest to plan for a special Senate election, probably in middle to late June, with party primaries about five weeks earlier.

Woeful that they would even suggest Affleck. Such a tar-pit, Massachusetts.
The unfortunate part of this is, no mstter who is finally pick to run against Brown, the Globe will blindly follow and lead the attack on him. This all because he has the dreaded and most hated (R) next to his name.
How do you explain the Globe's endorsement of Richard Tisei?
His competitor was a criminal_plain & simple.
A Blogger wrote the Democrats would vote for a 'ham sandwich' if "Democrat was posted beside it! That is the absolute truth.

Really, we are longing for a Kennedy? On what is that statement based? "We" just elected a Kennedy who hasn't even been sworn in yet. And now we are loading up the U-Haul to help Ted Jr. move up here from CT? Please.
Yes sireee . . . the Massachusetts Kennedy loving voters just can't get enough of the Camelot fairy tale.
The actual comment was "some Democrat's are longing." They can speak for themselves.
Brown is not charismatic and he is not virtuous. We know that now. He is petty and he is a misogynist. Brown's "She's not what she says she is" tactic against Warren was lame, and low. He will be low; it's ingrained in his nature. Brown does not have one tenth of the character of a Stephen Lynch or a Mike Capuano.
Grow-up, and start reading articles besides those in the Globe. You obviously have a computerand most papers allow 'free acess.'
Brown lost by 8 points. 'Nuf said.
So? Give all the details, Mr. Noah Bierman & Michael Levenson:
What are the perks the appointee will receive for serving the '145 to 160 days' as a MA Senator?
What will the Gov.'s folly in this Senate appointment cost the tax-payers in benefits for life?
I find it ironic that supposedly "cerebral" Massachusetts has what is probably the most unsophisticated, least curious electorate in the country. Let's address that 800 pound gorilla right now. If Ted Kennedy, Jr. runs, he wins. The only person who could give him a serious challenge would be Joe3, and he's already got a job.
This article and the one on Ted Kennedy's son illustrates how the Globe and other media, perhaps unconsciously, tilt the election's playing field unfairly. One leaves reading these pieces with the impression that the three congressional candidates are unqualified because they lack charisma. Not a word about experience. Meanwhile, Ted Jr looks and sounds like his father. Wow. Come on, Globe. You can do better.
But first, the currrent Secretary of state, Hillary Clinton needs to come out of hiding and answer some major questions about her role in the Benghazi, Libya attack.
