Teen wounded in drive-by shooting, police say

A 15-year-old was shot in the hand in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in Worcester, according to police. Around 12:15 a.m., Worcester police went to Saint Vincent Hospital where a gunshot victim was being treated in the emergency room. The teen told police he was leaving a party with two friends in the area of 64 Vernon St. when someone fired a shot from a vehicle as it drove by. The bullet struck the 15-year-old in the hand, according to a statement from police. He ran home and a family member drove him to the hospital, police said. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Worcester police.
