Three cars were damaged but none of the drivers was seriously injured when a moose caused a series of crashes on Interstate 91. State Police said the moose was running onto the passing lane around 7 p.m. in Vernon when it was struck and killed by a vehicle. The dead moose was then struck by two more cars, one of which flipped over onto its roof. One driver had minor cuts to her hand but otherwise no one was hurt, police said.
