Menino marks his 70th birthday back at City Hall

Mayor Thomas M. Menino celebrated his 70th birthday Thursday by returning to his City Hall office for the first time since falling ill in mid-October, his chief spokeswoman said.

“The mayor enjoyed his birthday by visiting with staff, having lunch with people in his administration, and doing city business in his favorite place: at City Hall,” Dot Joyce, the mayor’s spokeswoman, said by phone.

I'm sorry the guy had a stroke; but please stop all the lying and BS! It' quite obvious to any thinking human being that this man is impaired. His hanger-ons and sycophants will not give up the power. Watch the videos/listen to his already mumbling speech and tell me that this man did not have a brain clot issue. They finally admitted to a blood clot to the lungs- guess where blood clots go first-Duh! I feel bad for him but if he can't handle the job then step aside. Having his worthless minions run the city in his name is not helping anyone. Does this egomaniac Mumbllei-ini think he's FDR ? Hiding his polio and wheelchair to keep power? Look at the videos see the IV bandages and visible bruising a from his blood thinners? This was two months after being admitted to the hospital and got treatment suitable for a Saudi prince at the MGH at our expense. The only reason he is hanging on is to make sure that all his lackeys go over the 20 year mark to jump their pensions and seniority. This is especially true of his family members who would have to get a job in the real world if Daddy wasn't making sure they don't get fired . He had a good run but why doesn't he just go away?

WOW! dotrat - that is telling it like it is_no BS here.

The Globe Toadies are continuing to write fantasy stories and ignore the reality of Menino's poor physical condition and the fact that he ought to be in a nursing home receiving rehabilitation to at least get him ambulating.

What the public is reading and what they are seeing, are two entirely different scenarios.

Dear Mr. Menino,

Thank you for your service. Please hang it up now and let others take the reins.  You deserve the rest, and lord knows we deserve the infusion of new ideas and energy.

So, tell me about the cover up. The other day there were references in the Comments section about shredded emails and hush ups in Mayor Menino's office. Now, I read that he had a stroke? I hope The Globe is on this story! I also hope the Mayor continues to improve so he can finish up his goals for Boston. The man got sick, plain and simple.

Tom can't quit until he builds his casino, his jackpot, the ultimate pay-off scheme where he collects after he retires. "Never steal anything small" said James Cagmey! Meanwhile, cost per BPSS pupil is $16,000 if we include cost of busing; solution is neighborhood schools by 9/2014. If this iworks for 75%, give vouchers to the rest and fix the other 25% later.
