Rescuers have found two hikers stranded overnight on Mount Lafayette in Franconia, N.H., after the men activated an emergency beacon. Fish and Game officials said the men, from Quebec, were found after 1 p.m. Monday. WMUR-TV reported that they were not injured. Officials said the two men were experienced, prepared hikers, but the wind and snow made it difficult to navigate their way off the mountain Sunday afternoon. The men activated an emergency beacon Sunday night and said they woke each other up throughout the night to make sure they did not become hypothermic. On Monday morning, as they hiked out a helicopter spotted an orange thermal blanket they were carrying. Rescue teams helped them hike out.
