Warren joins Senate after long effort by some to keep her out of D.C.

When Elizabeth Warren was sworn in today as a US senator, it was not only the culmination of an election campaign she launched in September 2011, but also the completion of a political turnabout started the previous May.

In May 2011, 44 Republican senators signed a letter to President Obama, vowing to block his nominee to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau without changes to the consumer watchdog agency created by the Dodd-Frank financial regulatory act.

Really glenn, what a warped analysis of this event.  How about this headline instead;

Record-setting Campaign Funding by Outside Special Interests Sweeps Tarnished Warren into the Senate!

Just seems like a more apt analysis of the facts.

Well, Elizabeth Warren did join the Senate today. And Republicans did keep her out of Washington. So it's not really a warped analysis, is it? It's not really an analysis at all.

Also, if spending alone could guarantee political success, then Mitt Romney would be president. And Warren won by 7%. Hardly a close race.

"..And Republicans did keep her out of Washington."

Actually baloney.  The reason Obama didn't put her up for Senate approval for the head of CFPB is he understood she would be opposed by too many DEMOCRATs to obtain approval. So don't blame Republicans, her inability to get approval was a rare example of Senate bi-partisanism.

I'm very glad she's there. I'm as proud that she's my Senator as I am to be a citizen of this great state.

I wonder if Shelby is embarrassed now.

Tme will tell if Warrens "spend what you dont have" continues with our tax money . Time will tell just where her prioritys lie...with the Administration or the voters......or ......
