Flurries are possible Sunday, but a warming trend is on tap for southern New England, with temperatures approaching 50 on Tuesday and beyond, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a chance of light snow between 5 and 9 a.m. Sunday, but “probably not enough to coat the ground” in the Boston area, said National Weather Service meteorologist Frank Nocera.
