One woman was rescued and another was found dead after a two-alarm fire in Holyoke early Saturday, authorities said. The fire that destroyed a two-story, bungalow-style home at 28 Glen St. was reported at 6:29 a.m., Lieutenant Thomas Paquin of the Holyoke Fire Department said. State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan said a female victim was found dead inside the home but did not release her identity. Firefighters rescued another woman from the roof of the front porch, Paquin said, and she was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. They also rescued a large dog that was transported to an animal control hospital, Paquin said. Two other dogs that lived at the home were unaccounted for. Paquin said one firefighter suffered a knee injury at the scene. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental, he said.
