The week is off to a mild start, with today’s temperatures expected to rise to near 40 along the coast and in Southeastern Massachusetts and the mid-30s inland. Tuesday looks even warmer, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures rose to 39 at Logan International Airport at midday today. The Bay State can expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day.
Tonight will be chilly, weather service meteorologist Eleanor Vallier-Talbot said, as Boston temperatures drop into the low 30s, and temperatures in the suburbs into the 20s. Some areas could see the teens, forecasters said.
Temperatures will recover nicely Tuesday, though, Vallier-Talbot said, with highs approaching 50 and clear skies.
As for the rest of the week, Thursday and Friday have a slight chance for showers, with a chance for precipitation Friday throughout much of the state, except the Cape.
Highs could be well above normal, in the 50s, on the weekend. They could even reach 60 degrees Sunday, though rain is possible as a cold front moves through the region, forecasters said.Lauren Dezenski can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
