Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray has raised more in campaign donations in the past year than any other statewide officeholder on Beacon Hill, more evidence that he is preparing for a gubernatorial run next year.
The Worcester Democrat collected nearly $447,000 in contributions through the end of December, according to an Associated Press review of state campaign finance records.

If Mr. Murray is governor, he will have an official driver (if the poor, under-staffed State Police can spare a trooper, that is). His election will promote highway safety, at least.
Another day, another hack. Can we get some fresh blood and ideas in this state, ever? At least can we get someone a bit more honest than Mr. Murray? Maybe someone that at least can drive.
You gotta wonder whether the public recognition that Murray is an empty suit has just gotten to far ahead of him, for the usual political machine to be able to annoint him as the next Governor?
Gessh, I hope so. But oyu have to bleieve that a public that elected Frank, Warren, Teddy, and that ilk, not to mention the mealy mouth Patrick himself, probably has more stomach for making a truely bad choice, again.
