I-93 South through Boston to close overnight for maintenance

Don’t plan on using Interstate 93 South to go through Boston late tonight.

The entire highway will be closed for maintenance on the lower deck, Zakim Bridge, and O’Neill Tunnel.

The closure will begin at midnight and extend until 5 a.m., the state Department of Transportation said in a Web posting.

I-93 South traffic will be detoured off the highway at Route 38/Mystic Avenue. It will be allowed to re-enter I-93 near South Station, officials said.

Drivers who want to head west on the Massachusetts Turnpike will use the on-ramp just south of Keeland Street, officials said.

Setup will begin at 11 p.m. tonight.
