A Springfield man is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to killing his mother and later stealing and crashing a taxicab. Luis Rosa, 41, was arraigned Monday in Springfield District Court on charges including murder, assault, and armed carjacking. Police said Rosa was arrested early Monday after overturning the taxicab he had allegedly stolen after stabbing the 25-year-old driver with a butcher knife. The driver required treatment for a cut on his shoulder. Rosa was later charged with killing his mother, Norma Perez, 57, who was found dead in her apartment by relatives just before 5 p.m. Sunday.
