Mayor Menino at a crossroads

Most of the rerporters who packed the elegant living room of the Parkman House Tuesday afternoon were not all that interested in the city’s announcement that Converse is moving its world headquarters to a dilapidated building on Lovejoy Wharf next to TD Garden.

They were there instead for a glimpse of the king.

Comments

"Clearly, he remains popular enough to win reelection."   If that was the only issue of importance his running again would be fine, but the city deserves and needs a mayor with energy and new ideas.

He may love the city and/or the job, but as the Paul Sorvino's character asks George Segal's in 'A Touch of Class': "Do you love her enough to give her up?"

Like Sinatra, Menino won't quit until he falls off the stage.

Menino has the BRA under his thumb. Will this be passed to the next mayor? Does anything change?

What is the Mayor & his family paying to stay in the Parkman House?

Lets not forget that the Parkman House is considered a mansion and historical building not open to the public.
