Job training firm shuts Mass. locations

A job training company has abruptly closed several Massachusetts locations, state officials said. The state Division of Professional Licensure said in a message posted on its website that it learned Wednesday that the American Career Institute had closed its locations in Braintree, Cambridge, Framingham, Springfield, and Woburn. The agency said it is investigating and will inform affected students by Jan. 25 of their options, including possible refunds or continued training elsewhere. The institute offered training in areas including information technology, according to its website. The company could not immediately be reached for comment.
