A Norwich police officer who was shot and wounded in an hours-long standoff Monday night has been released from the hospital. Officer Jonathan Ley was discharged Thursday morning from Yale-New Haven Hospital. Ley, a 14-year veteran of the Norwich police force, was treated for four gunshot wounds. The 38-year-old officer was wearing a bulletproof vest. A State Police spokesman said the shooter — Jason Razzino, 30, who had broken into an apartment — was found dead in a bathroom, hours after the standoff began Monday afternoon. Police said he killed himself.
