Menino says he was kidding about Wynn casino proposal

Threaten Steve Wynn? Nope, said Mayor Thomas M. Menino of Boston. What might have sounded vaguely threatening early last week — when the mayor suggested that a Wynn casino proposal in Everett would have to go through him — was simply a gag.

“I was being a little wise,” said the mayor, who has favored a competing casino proposal at Suffolk Downs.

Typical of this blowhard meglomaniac bully. " I own a piece of that property" ???? I just got my taxbill from this clown that in no way matches the reality of the real estate market. File for an abatement or question the value and Mumblino's Gestapo ISD will be paying you a visit. Anything that may hinder his Hackarama Taj -Mahal in Eastie will be fought tooth and nail. His incompetant kids/relatives and supporters will need a job somewhere when he finally leaves office--one way or the other.

Wynn has said it will be the owners responsibility to clean up the site. Knowing the area, its my opinion that it may be a problem, due to the extent of chemical contamination.

" I own"... "My property"...? This guy's ego is beyond control. Property taxpayers across the city are being denied the opportunity to weigh in on the possible Suffolk Downs proposal because our political leaders rigged the process. At the end of the day we are going end up with high capacity money extraction factories preying upon the very people who can least afford to lose. All in the name of temporary construction jobs and long-term low-skill, low-wage menial jobs. As a Boston property taxpayer, I would rather let Everett have it so as to save us from being stuck with a tax incentive laden white elephant.

The Mayor of Boston can crush Everett like a bug hitting a windshield at 80 mph. Do not mess with Menino's boys.
