A nationwide coalition of mayors who support tougher gun control, led by Thomas M. Menino of Boston and Michael R. Bloomberg of New York, issued a report Monday that assails the National Rifle Association for what the mayors call a systematic attempt to restrict access to firearms data and research by the public, government, and law enforcement.
The report was unveiled by Bloomberg at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore on the one-month anniversary of the shooting spree at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., that killed 20 first-graders and six adults.

What else is new. The anti-gun crowd of Schumer, Bloomberg, Feinstein, etc. were jumping for joy after the massacre. Never let a tragedy go to waste is Emmanuels motto while his city has 22 murders from gun violence already this year. But how could this be considering Chicago has banned handguns for the past 30 yrs.? Big city Democratic Mayors disarm their constituents and then wonder how the gangbangers commit so many violent crimes. Liberals never learn that bans never work. How did Prohibition work? How about the war on drugs?
PS, more people were killed with hammers and clubs than were killed with the evil "Assault Weapons". Remember, that phrase was coined by the Brady Bunch to demonize a particular type of Rifle. Kinda like how the liberals demonize successful Americans by referring to them as the "rich", as in "they don't pay their fair share". All smoke and mirrors folks.
How many people can you kill with hammers and clubs in 2 minutes? How many using rifles?
And where is the documentation that the incidence of mortality due to "hammers and clubs" is greater than mortality from semiautomatic weapons?
