A Maine high school has scheduled a Valentine’s dance for the first time since 2009, when the event was canceled because too many students were engaging in a sexually suggestive dance known as grinding. Brunswick High School is planning to hold the dance Feb. 15. Art Abelmann, the principal, told The Times Record that the dance is a chance for students to show they can dress and behave appropriately. He was not principal when the annual event was stopped. Students will be asked to sign agreements pledging respectful and legal behavior.
