Nanny held on high bail; old allegations come to light

Lawyer says client played no part in death

MEDFORD — Aisling McCarthy Brady, the Quincy nanny accused of assaulting the now-deceased toddler in her care, huddled out of sight in Cambridge District Court Tuesday morning, as her lawyer declared her innocence. Over the day, details emerged about Brady’s past, including previous allegations of violence and harassment.

During the arraignment, prosecutors said Brady, 34, injured 1-year-old Rehma Sabir while caring for the girl at her parents’ Cambridge apartment on Jan. 14. The toddler sustained massive head trauma, authorities said, and died two days later.

Who are the parents? The child suffered from malnutrition? Who else is around the child? I think that the nanny is totally and utterly innocent and a victim of a murderer's cover-up.

The Nanny is "totally and utterly" innocent?  Are you kidding?

I just finished reading how the owners of the Framingham pharmacudical intentionally bankrupted their company by withdrawing millions prior to filing and on the heals of the deaths of 46, yet they all remain free.  This nanny has her pasport removed (fine) but is given a 1/2 million bail to boot while the article suggests there are many issues that complicate this case including two prior fractures and recent diagnosis of malnurishment.  Screwy system.

She has a behavioral problem and she is here illegally. She has been arrested before for numerous of things she has had restraining orders out on her by different people yet she has been allowed to stay in the country illegally, it's funny how the goverment deports other people arrested for driving without a license but allows her to continue to stay here illegally. It makes you wonder had she been deported then, this baby would be alive today. It is time that the government enforces the immigration laws equally across the country not just on certain people.

The Herald reporting on this story was really much better than the Globe presentation.
