Advocates for the homeless held a memorial service for those who died in Rhode Island without shelter last year. The Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless held its annual homeless memorial service Wednesday at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in downtown Providence. WPRO-AM reported that a few hundred people attended. As a brass ensemble played, family members and friends read aloud the names of 32 homeless people who are known to have died during the past year.
