West Warwick police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who abandoned an ailing English bulldog earlier this month outside the local animal shelter with no food or water in cold temperatures. Police said a surveillance camera recorded the man tying up the dog outside the West Warwick Animal Shelter at about 4:15 a.m. Jan. 7. Officer said the man drove off in what appeared to be a white, late model Volkswagen Jetta. Police said the male dog is old, visually impaired, and had signs of neglect. It is being treated at the shelter. Anyone with information about the man or dog is asked to call West Warwick police.
