Police said a New Bedford man abducted from his apartment has been found in Connecticut. Detective Captain Steven Vicente told The Standard Times that John Sylvia, 29, was left along a road in East Hartford Thursday night, and walked into a convenience store. He said that Sylvia had some minor injuries and that his hands were bound with zip ties. Police said earlier that two men wearing jackets with the word police’ on them went to Sylvia’s apartment late Thursday morning, handcuffed him, bundled him into a white U-Haul van with Arizona plates, and drove away. Police said the abductors confronted Sylvia’s girlfriend in the parking lot and took her house keys.
