Fire forces residents in Taunton to flee building

A three-alarm fire broke out in a 24-unit apartment building in Taunton on Sunday, officials said. No injuries were reported as of 11 p.m. as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, according to Jesse Correira of the Taunton Fire Department. The three-floor building at 103 Hart St. was safely evacuated shortly after 9 p.m., he said. The fire’s cause had not been determined. American Red Cross officials said they sent volunteers to help people displaced by the fire.
