The mother of a man convicted of conspiring with his father to murder a handyman in 2005 in Deerfield, N.H., said new evidence has surfaced to exonerate her son. Lorraine Brooks, the mother of Jesse Brooks, and private investigators plan to discuss the evidence at a news conference on Monday in Manchester, N.H., according to a statement from a Boston public relations firm representing the family. Brooks, who is in his 30s, was convicted in 2009 of conspiring with his father, John Brooks, a wealthy businessman, and others to murder Jack Reid, whom the elder Brooks suspected of stealing from him.
