Connecticut State Police said they are preparing arrest warrants in connection with the shootings of two cows on a family dairy farm in North Stonington. Trooper David Abely told The Day of New London Wednesday that the charges against the suspects will include cruelty to animals. Asa Palmer, 18, whose family runs the farm, said three youths in town are the prime suspects. He said they apparently shot a rifle at 12 cows in a field late Friday or early Saturday. Two cows were shot, including one that had to be euthanized because of severe injuries to its jaw.
