Plymouth officer’s missing service weapon recovered

A handgun that disappeared after a Plymouth police officer inadvertently left it in a courthouse restroom has been recovered. Chief Michael Botieri said the gun was recovered Wednesday afternoon, but did not say how it was tracked down. He told The Patriot Ledger that his department would not be seeking criminal charges and that the case is considered closed. The gun had not been fired. Captain John Rogers Jr. put the gun down in the restroom of Wareham District Court at about 3 p.m. Monday, then left without it. When he went back for it minutes later, it was gone.
