Christy Mihos’s convenience stores file for bankruptcy

Christy Mihos’s string of financial woes continued last week as the former gubernatorial candidate filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy of his company, Christy’s of Cape Cod, LLC — a local chain that once included more than 100 convenience stores. Mihos and his lawyer could not be reached for comment Saturday. According to court documents, Christy’s has $1 million to $10 million in liabilities. Mihos spent millions of his own money on failed gubernatorial bids in in 2006 and 2010, and was sued by Attorney General Martha Coakley for failing to pay a $25,000 campaign finance fine.
