At least one person who was injured when a charter bus slammed into an overpass Saturday night in Boston remained in critical condition on Sunday as State Police identified the driver in the crash, which injured more than 30 high school students from Pennsylvania and their chaperones.
The group was heading home to the Philadelphia area after a visit to Harvard University.

WHY is there not an "Early Warning System" in the form of a bar that would be struck BEFORE a deadly, immoveable and expensive object like a bridge is hit? This seems to happen all over the US and very often. It would need to be far enough in front of the overpass that the'd have time to stop but it would alert the inattentive drivers.
Most of the Storrow entrances have such a bar. People blow right through them. I'm pretty sure this bridge has one, too.
I like Greyhound. They seem to have a far better track record than do other companies. The drivers must be so much better and the training has to be great.

The road signage in Massachusetts is pathetic. Storrow Drive warnings of low bridges are posted too late to make a difference for a vehicle travelling the speed limit.
However, it is a reasonable expectation that professional drivers know their planned routes when responsible for passengers. For God's sake, review the professional driving tests, because even cab drivers get lost in Boston and the surrounding areas.
