MBTA to commuters: Don’t be beastly

The MBTA is using a new tactic to encourage commuter kindness: cute animals.

A poster campaign set to launch Wednesday features “courtesy critters” tasked with providing commuters friendly reminders on decorum.

This is fabulous!

A fine caampaign idea..however courtesy awareness should flow both ways, don't ya think!?

Bravo for the campaign.  But "warm, welcoming Atlanta, ground zero of Southern hospitality?"  Is this opinion or would Ms. Powers care to provide any factual references?"

I grew up in the South and lived there until I moved to Boston 30 years ago. Southern hospitality is overrated. I've been asked many times if I found the people of Boston to be rude. I found no difference -- some people are rude in Atlanta, some people are rude in Boston, but in both places the majority of people are just fine.

And, I should add, there is much less hatred here. Hatred of people with differing political views and different ethnicities is quite common in the South, especially outside the cities.

I'm from the South as well and have to agree with who-cares.  What we know as "southern hospitality" is generally just a smoke screen to get you to open up about yourself.  Southerners are nosy and love to gossip about other people's business.  I prefer New Englanders, who are more inclined to respect each others' privacy and personal space.
