The acting headmaster of Madison Park Vocational Technical High School in Boston was placed on administrative leave Wednesday amid a federal investigation of his alleged role in a multiple-state credit fraud ring.
Queon Jackson, 39, of Milton is the second Boston school headmaster to spark controversy about alleged criminal activities in less than a year. Last summer, School Superintendent Carol R. Johnson came under fire for taking no disciplinary action against the co-headmaster of the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science after learning he was briefly jailed for punching and choking his wife.

It would seem that Mr. Jackson was placed on a fast track to promotion. Why? Most Headmasters and Principals have worked many years in the system or have extensive experience in other school syatems. Mr. Jackson may be and I hope, is, innocent of these current charges-however, the question remains as to why he was given this position. The process of appointment of school administrators needs to be re-examined. Are we getting the best individuals to serve our children or is some other criteria being used to select school leaders? The mayor needs to look into this and seek answers not excuses from school department officials.
When will the continued extortion of Boston's taxpayers finally end? When will accountability return? Will Menino grant another imprimatuer and focus the blame somewhere else? Will the City Council ever really look out for the welfare of the taxpayer assuring value in return? I think not! At least until WE make the change!
What a joke. Truth is always stranger than fiction. These people should run for President of the US - they qualify. Diversity is good. F troop in action.
Affirmative.
"assistant director of school climate"? Seems we do need climate change to get away from affirmative action. $133K a year for this criminal? No wonder my taxes are going crazy. His only qualifications were that he is related to a long-time school hack employee and he wasn't a criminal .. err .. Wasn't in jail.
I like the intent to distribute charge.
You just cant make this stuff up.
When does Superintendent Johnson become accountable for the hiring of senior administrators charged or convicted with serious crimes ranging from domestic abuse to drug dealing? All this on top of the bus driver fiasco earlier this month. I expect the next thing to happen will be for Johnson to hire Annie Dookhan to teach science at Boston Latin. She should quit or Menino should fire her.
He's only doing the credit card fraud that, oh, well, if I finish this I'm just going to get zapped.
