Mayor Thomas M. Menino credited Boston’s school superintendent for acting quickly to place a high school headmaster on leave after learning he was the subject of a federal investigation into a multi-state credit fraud ring.
“I think the superintendent of schools made the right decision,” Menino said Friday. “As soon as she found out about this person, we removed him from his position.”

Yup, they sure do look like they're making a political statement alright.
They thought the protest was for Michael Jackson.
Regardless of the photo; it is commendable that the students seem to have formed a strong bond with Mr. Jackson. Of course they may have misplaced their trust (or not). He is still to be considered innocent until proven guilty. He, like us all, deserves his day in court. Aside from that, the walkout, while ill advised, shows how impressionable young men and women are. Thus it is all the more important to have school leaders who are truely deserving of their loyalty. These leaders need to remember the awsome responsibility they have in forming students' ideals and world view. Let's hope that Mr. Jackson is exonerated. If he is not, the Superintendent needs to explain to these students how and why they were betrayed. I hope they will understand without being too bitter.
Holy crap, really? They just wanted to get out of school . Are you that out of touch with reality? Really?
another great role model
