In an e-mail to the undergraduate student body on Wednesday, two Northeastern University deans announced the “sudden and untimely” death of junior Siddhant Phadnis. Phadnis, originally from Brookfield, Conn., majored in cinema studies and English, according to the e-mail from deans Xavier Costa and Uta Poiger. The communication did not specify how or where Phadnis died. A spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney’s office and a Boston Police Department spokesman both said they were not aware of a death investigation on the campus. The school’s Division of Public Safety also would not turn over a copy of the campus crime reports on Thursday night.
