Among the highlights observed at various places during last weekend’s Cape Ann Birding Weekend event were a king eider near Salt Island in Gloucester; many harlequin ducks between Halibut and Andrews Point in Rockport; a bald eagle and two peregrine falcons in Gloucester; several Iceland gulls, a glaucous gull, and a razorbill at the Jodrey Fish Pier in Gloucester; and several dovekies, a common murre, and many razorbills at scattered locations in Rockport and Gloucester.

► Gloucester:A boat out to Stellwagen Bank on Feb. 2 was highlighted by the sighting of 18 black-legged kittiwakes, seven Iceland gulls, four dovekies, a common murre, 79 razorbills, four black guillemots, and two Atlantic puffins.
