Five fire departments responded to a three-alarm fire that destroyed a Hingham home early Monday afternoon, a Hingham fire official said.

Fire officials received the call about a blaze on East Street around 11:45 a.m., said Kate Knorr, Hingham Fire Department administrative assistant. Crews from Hull, Scituate, Rockland, and Norwell and state fire marshal’s office investigators, were at the scene.
