Former senator Scott Brown made a transition from potential comeback politician to pundit in just two weeks, making his debut as a contributor to Fox News on Wednesday night in an appearance also billed as an “exclusive” by host Sean Hannity.
Fans and skeptics alike saw the move as a plush landing pad for Brown, a telegenic former model who used his regular-guy appeal to great effect in his campaign for US Senate and whose upset win in 2010 was championed and chronicled on Fox.

Scott Brown, Sarah Palin, Karl Rove...this is a really miserable legacy. I'm embarassed for Brown.

Is the GOP Propaganda Network (i.e., Fox News) now a stepping stone to the Mass Governorship?
Personally, I think this is an indication that he's not interested in running for governor.
Brown got used to the national limelight while he was Senator. The governor of a state rarely gets any national coverage. Massachusetts is too small a stage for Brown. That's not even considering the monetary rewards he'll enjoy at Fox, on the conservative lecture circuit and in corporate boardrooms.
I agree WC. He's got to understand that one single mis-statement will be captured, spun and replayed ad nauseum during whatever public office he attempts to run for. It's a risky move if he's got future political aspirations.
I am sure is commentary will be very intellectually stimulating.....:)
Maybe he will have the kings and queens etc who phoned him all the time on his show. With all due respect, I am sure it is the bi-partisan, bi-cameral leanings of Faux news that brought him there.
A quitter, like Palin, eager to cash in while his name is in the spotlight. A run for Gov? I think not.
No, he's not done. You are right he won't run for Gov. cause it won't work but he'll become nationally known. He's going for the White house and Madison Ave is already behind him. Think about it ..Mitt couldn't get elected around here but nationally.. well that didn't work either.
So disappointing.
We probably should have seen this coming, given that Faux News is the home of numerous other failed Republican politicians and advisors.
I'm a supporter of Scott Brown and even I think this is a really bad move for him. I gave up listening to Fox "news" years ago.
I should add...... I also gave up listening to Jay Severin prather on using "me", "my", & "I" at about the same time. He seemed to be well read when it came to a few subjects but why no one could reel him back from his non stop self-aggrandizing BS, I could never understand.
Now I'm giving Dan Rea a try. A decent, level-headed guy although he's got some really strange callers!
Could be a good move for him:
If he's cast as a 'centrist' or even the 'leftie' on their segments it could mean a significant amount of time under their employ - and he could make a decent salary. He does deserve that.
But he could just become another "look how bad the Democrat party is" talking head and we'll see him for about as long as we saw Wolf-hunt Barbie Palin. I personally beleive they want him becasue he passes the 'eye-candy' test (just like Palin did) and he has enough name recognition outside MA to cause a nice buzz for them.
In either case - if he has political plans for the future - this is a good way to keep his name in the 'news'. I know it's tough to swallow here, but many millions of Americans do watch this channel. It really is the (current) perfect mix of politics & personality/gossip. It's a proven formula and he should cash in while he can.
Good post. Palin was brutal to listen to if I happened to stumble across Fox during the elections. I was tempted to take off my glasses and hit mute so she'd at least be tolerable. It never happened.

Get lost. And don't let the door hit you on your way out. Scottie was always just an empty suit and another hapless Republican buffoon.
aside from making money, not sure how this helps his political career in Massachusetts.
This is depressing. " news".
Where was the "Great American Hero" during the Blizzard of 2013? Didn't I read somewhere that Scott joined the Army Nat'l Guard after the Blizzard of '78? Guess he never did really want to get those fatigues dirty (or wet). Now his wife, Gail Huff, was never afraid of the cold or dark when covering things for Channel 5.
One more question for former Senator Brown to duck if or when he debates his next opponent! Guess we know what JAG means now. Not exactly a profile in courage. Didn't you love it when he skipped the last debate to go looking for a disaster, but couldn't find one! Let's face it, he was just too afraid to take on a real lawyer and a female one at that. So much for a brittle narcissist!
Fear not...he'll really be in the company of heroes on Fox. At least Scott looks like one! And at least he'll no longer be just a parvenu looking for a pay boost. He hit the jackpot! Should do wonders for the self-image.
Poor Hotpants got the stiff arm from the big financial services companies.
Well, given the character of his campaign against Elizabeth Warren, I think he will be very comfortable at the network of misinformation. Or should I just say "lies."
I'm confused by the wording of your post. You mean being used to the lies of the Warren campaign, correct?
Scott Brown stole the national spotlight with his first campaign for Senate. He had a chance to mold his seat into a totally unique brand that reflected the amazing qualities of the people of Massachusetts. Instead, he sluffed around and I saw a "me, me, me" personality emerge that was a major bummer. Why can't Gail Huff run for governor?
I don't like Gail Huff anymore either, after I saw the shameless lies she spun trying to keep those senatorial benefits from slipping her grasp...
I think Gail and Scott should team up for a breakfast show. Gail could do interviews with right-wing babes, and Scott could mosey in to do political stuff, complete with the Costanza coat. Ayla could do an occasional country ditty. They could be the Cleaver's of the millenium.
Good looking, right age range and a bit of a dolt. Perfect for a stint on Fox "news".
Becoming a media personality is yet another stop of of the revolving door between elected officials, government regulators, lobbyists, and positions in the private industry you are shilling for.
It's a great country. Cash in, Scott.
in the immoortal words of Cyndi Lauper " I see your true colors"
LOL. Brown and Hannity -- two dumb as a brick idiots.
naw. Hannity and Brown ... Dumb and Dumberer.
gives the Peoples Senator an electronic soapbox from which to explain to all who tune in that this is America. I can see why bricks and idiots immediately come to mind.
Mr. "bi-partisan" goes to work for the most partisan news outlet. I saw him for the first time in a Scituate parade, his workers carrying signs about jobs and workers. Watching the GOP for over 60 years, I knew these issues were so far down on their list you had to turn the page over. He is total BS and will not last long in media.
Most partisan news outlet? Apparently, you've never watched MSNBC.
MSNBC is not a news outlet and doesn't claim to be. It's strictly an opinion channel. Biased they are, but they don't claim to be anything else. That's quite unlike Fox NEWS.
Did he start dying his hair or is it the screen shot??
Fox news= super right hosts no compromise ever. Thinks people should stand on their own or live a less than glamorous life.
MSNBC= super left hosts no compromise ever. Think the Govt should be the parents of those that cannot do.
Scott Brown has a proven record of compromise and will be a great moderate guest on the fox network. stay in the spotlight Scotty. He does lean towards the stand on your own but would compromise so the liberals can feel they got something for the ....
