Snow makes for stormy relations on Boston streets

Jessica Moscat of Dorchester has no other option: Seeing hardened snow piled high on sidewalks and towing a toddler in a stroller, she has to walk on the road.

Passing drivers, she said, have not been happy.

It's the big difference between plowing and snow removal.

Looks like some DPW honchos are trying to save their budgets by leaving post storm snow removal to Mother Nature's daytime temps in the 40s.  Pedestrians and dogs on leashes need to take special care due to some of the motorized morons who are licensed to drive by this state's beloved RMV.

you need to be careful both as a pedestrian and as a driver. But it gets doubly hazardous when most people are wearing black on poorly lit streets. Everyone needs to slow down and show some manners and not act like jerks though I know that is difficult for Boston drivers. Cities really arent done with snow until sidewalks are cleared and all travel lanes are reopened.

Ya know, sidewalks are supposed to be cleared within 4 hours. The city could make a lot of revenue passing out $50 tickets, and then put that money into better snow removal. Maybe a mayro with a brain could figure that out.
