The state auditor is urging prosecutors in Worcester and Bristol counties to increase transparency in their grants to community groups, to ensure the money is used for crime fighting and prevention as required by law.
The money comes from criminal proceeds that are forfeited to authorities and must be used for law enforcement purposes.

The Middlesex and Suffolk district attorney are being mismanaged. Only a bozo can take the position that they can hand out funds and even not want to ensure that the funds were expended as intended to prevent crime. It's hard to believe these offices prosecute criminals for embezzlement but do not have a clue as to whether their grants were embezzled or just ended up in someoone's pocket with no work ever done. This atitude is very troubling.
