She is sitting in her posh home in the North End with a scenic view of Boston Harbor, and Patricia Cornwell is at once ecstatic and still livid. One of her famed works of crime fiction would not have this much drama.
A federal court jury had just awarded her $50.9 million in damages, finding her former financial company cheated her, her wife, and her company out of tens of millions of dollars. A federal judge could increase the award, too.

Is she married?
And what's the relevance of this question?
She just became a millionare you simpleton.
I'm not entirely sure why this is news (other than the fact that she's an author living in Massachusetts) but I'm glad she won.
She was bit by the Snapper? The shocking thing is that people paid good money for silly garbage novels instead of reading something that could contribute to actual useful knowledge.
Agreed & Agreed. BRAVO!!
If you are shocked by her success, you possess little useful knowledge yourself. An elitist know nothing.
I have to look into this Anchin LLP ! I'm concerned about a relative I think has considerable money there.
Irrelavant news about a nearly irrelavant author of medicocre pot boilers. meh.
The issue is why was her personal life brought into public view? Anchin must have thought they could get her to drop the suit if they threatened to let everyone know she was a lesbian and had dealt with mental health issues. They somehow stole 89 million from her and their response was if you sue we'll drag out your personal life for all to display. Cornwall was courageous to go to court and put her s reputation in the hands of a jury. The jury saw through the company and did the right thing. Cornwall is as brave and intelligent as her woman characters, and just as flawed. I'm looking forward to her next book.
