Boston firefighter allegedly made threats to commander

Police are seeking to bring criminal charges against a longtime Boston firefighter who, officials say, threatened to wreak havoc that would make the recent rampage of a man who shot and killed four people in California look like “child’s play.”

Steve MacDonald, a Fire Department spokesman, identified the firefighter as Kenneth Veiga, a 24-year veteran of the department. He said that Veiga has been placed on paid administrative leave.
