Plymouth woman sues FedEx in drug delivery

The first knock on the Plymouth woman’s door brought an alarming delivery: A 7-pound FedEx package, erroneously addressed to Maryangela Tobin’s 11-year-old daughter, containing vacuum-packed bags of marijuana.

But a second visit shortly afterward was downright frightening: an alleged drug smuggler, looking for his missing package.

The timing of the calls to FedEx, by both the original sender and the Plymouth Police Department, are important.  Did FedEx tell the sender the Tobins' address before or after the Plymouth PD ask it not to?  The article does not make that clear.  As for the Tobin children's reactions to the incident . . . why on earth did they know anything about it?

Welll obviously the children knew about it because they opened the package thinking it was for one of them whose birthday had just passed.

I agree, the timing is indeed important however, I wonder if FedEx normally gives out delivery information in similar mis-delivered situations?

As for the children knowing about it, one of the interviews with the mom had a reporter who cut away where they then mentioned that the package had some other things in it which lead the mother to believe that it was a birthday gift and that the substance inside the vaccum packs was potpourri of some sort.  I guess that makes her half correct.
