Harvard issues partial apology for e-mail search

Harvard College issued a partial apology and a lengthy statement Monday morning offering its explanation to the search of resident deans’ e-mails as part of a leak investigation.

In its statement, Harvard said the e-mail search was prompted by an investigation into a leaked e-mail and other information that described an Administrative Board case involving the university’s cheating scandal that became public last fall.

crumble, oh hallowed halls

Half an apology?  From the pinnacle of the World's Educational Establishment?  How Droll. . .  BTW, how come the Times got better quotes than the Boston rag the Times wants to dump?  Maybe that's the reason for the sale?

Is Cardinal Law the president of Harvard?

First, someone needs to teach these Harvard deans how to write declarative sentences. Second, exactly who at Harvard is taking responsibility for the way this scandal is being handled? Third, Harvard needs to learn the proper way to respond to a public scandal, a scandal that is now months' old. Every time a co-administrator opens his mouth, resolution of the cheating scandal gets murkier and murkier.

First - I think these kids got screwed.

Second, I gues Harvard only believes in privacy and individual rights if it ddoes not impact them.

No conservatives need apply

A partial apology?  Could be last refuge of the eminently entitled and completely half assed?
