Gomez offered to back Obama issues in Senate

Gabriel E. Gomez, a former US Navy SEAL who is running for the Republican nomination for US Senate, promised to support President Obama’s agenda on immigration and gun control in a letter he wrote to Governor Deval Patrick in January asking him to appoint him to the interim Senate seat.

The Gomez campaign released the letter Wednesday, as well as some personal financial information showing that Gomez, a private equity investor from Cohasset, earned $8.5 million in adjusted gross income from 2007 to 2011.

Comments

"Gomez, a private equity investor from Cohasett" Globe, check that spelling please. It is Cohasset.

He supported President Obama in 2008? Instead of fellow Republican and fellow Navy man John McCain? Next thing we'll learn is that he believes in evolution and climate change. Good luck getting the GOP nomination, Mr. Gomez!

Anyone care to discuss whether these politicians are not two faced?  Whatever it takes to get themselves and keep themselves in office, the country and their honor be damned.

Over before it ever began.

Dear Boston Globe: Please give this guy a legitimate moniker other than "former Navy SEAL". It's geting old. If I earned 8.5 million dollars in four years in my business, I wouldn't want to be called the "former morning paperboy" just because I went from rags to riches. Thank goodness F. Lee Bailey isn't in the headlines. He was always the "former marine".

Sybil!

He's in the wrong party primary, he's not a RINO he's a DEM. Time to announce your party change and get back in bed with your compatriots.  Lyhch would welcome your support he needs all the help he can get.
