The legal battles over the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston took another turn Wednesday in federal court, with organizers of the traditional parade and a veterans group planning a second march along the same route squaring off over street sweepers.
A federal judge dealt a partial victory to the group Veterans for Peace, which is planning its third consecutive alternative march because organizers of the traditional parade on Sunday, the Allied War Veterans Council of South Boston, have excluded them.

The last vestige of the "Old Southie's" stiff necked predjudice rears it's ugly head. This whole street sweeper thing is idiotic.
The reverse discrimination by the lefties is disgusting.
You see, old white irish must not be allowed to have their own parade. The other groups are trying to FORCE themselves into someone else's parade.... They could have their own...but no, they are entitled to take/destroy someone elses parade.
However the lefties will also scream that minorities need to be able to keep their traditions. We must allow and provide prayer rooms in schools for Muslims (protect religious freedom)... but catholics MUST NOT be allowed to hold CCD classes in schools (seperation of chuch and state- which only seems to apply to certain groups..).
And, the police force in southie must be racially diverse..(can't have a police force that is representative of the population), but dorchester must NOT be racially diverse (as you must have a police force that is representative of the population).
Catholic individuals are as free as Muslim individuals to pray. But there is no law that requires anyone to provide religious instruction at school.
And I think you'll find that they are the Boston police, not the Dot police, not the Southie police, not the Beacon Hill or Fenway police. The Boston Police Department
Don't you just love going where you aren't wanted if it will upset other people? I don't...the parade is supposed to be a celebration...not a platform...pretty sure the Chinese New Year parade does not have to include Irish step dancers, why the need to impose on anothers celebration?
Whatever you think it is Supposed to be doesn't matter. It has long been a platform.
