A Burlington High School senior faces a felony assault charge, Winchester police said, after he struck a 17-year-old Winchester High student in the head with a baseball bat in an altercation following a hockey playoff game between the schools Monday night.

As the Tsongas Arena in Lowell emptied out after the game, words and taunts were exchanged between two groups of students, police Lieutenant Peter MacDonnell said.
