Fire damages Oak Street warehouse

A three-alarm fire tore through a vacant warehouse in Taunton on Saturday, collapsing the roof and destroying the top three floors of the building. The Oak Street warehouse, owned by Columbia Electric Supply Inc., was empty at the time. Chemicals stored on the building’s grounds were not touched by the fire, the Taunton Fire Department said. Firefighters responded to the four-story warehouse at 4:20 p.m., and the blaze was well under control by 9 p.m., the department said.
