A community group in New Britain is compiling an online database to help the homeless find food, health care, housing, and other services. The New Britain Herald reported that John Carey, an intern from Central Connecticut State University and an environmental geography major, is working on the database that maps places where the homeless in New Britain can find basic services. Community Central, a program affiliated with the university, is gathering information about barriers that the homeless face and helping them find work and take care of themselves.
