Globetrotters escape injury in I-290 crash

The Harlem Globetrotters are adept at spin moves. But it was their bus on the highway that went spinning Tuesday morning in a weather-related crash in which no injuries were reported.

The crash, which occurred at 8:20 a.m, involved a Pontiac G6 sedan and the 1999 Greyhound bus.

Both vehicles spun out due to winter road conditions, causing the vehicles to come into contact with each other, said State Police spokesman David Procopio.

The Globetrotters’ bus, registered in Texas, left the scene under its own power, State Police said. The 2007 Pontiac was towed, with the scene cleared just after 8:45 a.m.

The Pontiac was driven by a 30-year-old Auburn woman, Procopio said.
