Two teenagers were found hiding in a dumpster behind a Peabody function hall Wednesday night after allegedly stealing a car, State Police said.
Someone who heard State Police broadcast an alert to cruisers to look for a stolen 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser, saw the stolen car pull into a service station on Route 1 in Peabody. That person then called State Police after seeing the car’s occupants flee on foot toward Spinelli’s facility.
Troopers found Corey Bilodeau, 18, of Amesbury, and a 17-year-old Haverhill girl in a dumpster behind Spinelli’s, State Police said.
Bilodeau and the girl, whom State Police would not name, were charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and resisting arrest. Bilodeau was also charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Both pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Thursday in Peabody District Court. They are next scheduled to appear in court May 2.
