MBTA to receive $344,311 in Hurricane Sandy recovery funds

The financially strapped MBTA is set to receive a small, but helpful boost in the form of $344,311 in federal aid to help repair damage from Hurricane Sandy.

The aid comes as part of a $1.42 billion package distributed among East Coast transit agencies caught in the destructive swath of the October hurricane, which devastated parts of New York and New Jersey and caused light damage in Massachusetts.
