Mass. driver involved in fatal N.H. crash

A Mansfield, Mass., man was involved in car crash in Claremont, N.H., Sunday that killed a 42-year-old Vermont woman and left her 13-year-old passenger seriously injured, according to a statement from the Claremont Police Department. Luke Garlinger, 29, of Mansfield was driving his Toyota Tacoma east on Main Street shortly after midnight, when he veered into the opposite lane and collided with a Pontiac minivan, police said. The driver of the minivan, Shellie Blaisdell of Windsor, Vt., was taken to Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont and later died, according to the statement. Her teenage passenger was also taken to Valley Regional Hospital, where he was being treated for serious injuries, said the statement. Garlinger was also treated there before being transferred to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. The accident remains under investigation, police said.
